Self love in the morning: habits to create a good start to your day

The first rays of morning sunlight offer a fresh start for self-love, a daily ritual that sets the tone for a positive and nurturing day. How we begin our day impacts the flow of our day. I myself am guilty of rolling over, and starting my day with technology. This past year I made a few small changes that DRASTICALLY impacted my morning start and my mood.


If you are looking to begin your day differently, consider these strategies!

MINDFUL AWAKENING

Begin your day with the gift of time. Wake up a bit earlier to allow for a mindful awakening. Resist the urge to reach for your phone immediately; instead, take a moment to savor the quiet and welcome the day with gratitude.


STARTING WITH AFFIRMATIONS

Embrace the power of positive affirmations. Speak words of kindness and encouragement to yourself. Affirmations can set a positive tone for the day, helping you cultivate self-love and confidence. I have a affirmation app that is catered to my needs and it helps me set my mental state.


CARE FOR YOUR BODY

Nourish your body from the inside out. Start your morning with a glass of water to rehydrate and kickstart your metabolism. Infuse it with lemon for an extra dose of freshness. I tongue scrape, take vitatims and wash my face. Those 3 things are part of my routine.


MINDFUL BREATHING

Engage in mindful breathing or meditation to center your mind and set a positive tone for the day. A few minutes of focused breathing can promote a sense of calm and self-awareness. If meditation doesn't come naturally, try an app!


GRATITUDE

Dedicate a few moments to jot down things you’re grateful for. Reflecting on the positive aspects of your life can shift your mindset towards abundance and appreciation, fostering self-love. Look for 3 things every morning to intentionally write down.


HEALTHY EATING CHOICES

Treat your body with love by fueling it with a nutritious breakfast. Whether it’s a smoothie, a bowl of fresh fruit, or a wholesome breakfast, prioritize nourishing choices that contribute to your well-being.


CARING FOR YOUR LARGEST ORGAN

Your morning skincare routine can be a self-love ritual. Take a few extra minutes to care for your skin, applying products that make you feel pampered and refreshed. Moisturizing and cleansing my face helps me to care for my skin.


MOVE YOUR VESSEL

Incorporate movement into your morning routine. It could be a gentle yoga session, a brisk walk, or a series of stretches. Choose activities that bring you joy and invigorate your body.


DIGITAL DETOX

Consider delaying the consumption of digital content. Give yourself a break from emails and social media, allowing your mind to ease into the day without external pressures. Try your best to not reach for your phone for the first few minutes of the day.


MANIFESTATION

Take a moment to visualize a positive day ahead. Envision yourself accomplishing tasks with ease, navigating challenges confidently, and embracing moments of joy. Visualization can set a positive tone for your experiences.
